As we understand, her owner led a very quiet life with just a very few good friends visiting every once in a while. As such, Lily responded to only a handful of people.<\/p>\n<p>For the first while Lily was extremely shy and reserved, not wanting to interact with any of the staff or volunteers. We were not able to pet her more than once or twice at a time, without her retaliating with a swat to our hands. With patience and a lot of love we were able to gain her confidence, and now she enjoys any attention we can give her.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Lily still has some reservations as to how much attention she will tolerate at any one time, but she now gives loving little \u201chead butts\u201d and likes to have you give her a little scratch around her head and ears.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Lily loves to have little chats with you, and prefers a high exclusive perch to survey the world around her.<\/p>\n<p>Once in her new home, we would suggest a gentle, slow, patient approach for the first little while to help her understand that your home will be a safe and loving one.
