At 4 to 5 weeks it is sometimes difficult to determine the gender of kittens, and we originally named her “Sylvester “because she looked very much like the “Sylvester the Cat” cartoon character! Our mistake was corrected when the vet returned Sylvester to us after being spayed, and suggested a name change was in order. “Sylvia” had arrived!!

In March 2013 Sylvia was adopted into a wonderful, loving home and was very well cared for. She had another feline companion and two small dogs in the home to keep her company. Life was good!

Sadly, in September 2015 tragedy struck. Sylvia and her companions’ world was turned upside down! Someone had broken into their home and hurt their human mom – she was gone! Sylvia spent the next few months at the SPCA becoming more reclusive as time went by despite all our attempts at trying to comfort her. With patience and lots of love, we have seen great improvements. She loves to socialize and will let us pick her up, rub her tummy and play with her. Her faith in people is back now. She’ll cuddle close to your neck and purr to let you know she is enjoying the comfort of your arms.

Sylvia is normally a quiet girl but can surprise you with some pretty playful and energetic antics.
